lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Cautious)
Lion-o was freaking out.

Some strange guy had called him and started talking about male pregnancy. He tried to call back, but without luck.

Another unfamiliar voice told him to stay put in his room, so that's what Lion-o was doing after calling him back.

He didn't understand why Turtle was trying to sell him an oven or why some guy told him to chill out. Nothing was making sense today.

[Estabishy and possibly more to come. Door and post are open.]

lordofthecats: (Code of Thundera)
Lion-o is from the animated kids show Thundercats. The Thunderans are a species of cat-like humanoids that live on a planet called Thundera. The Thundercats -- Lion-o, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, and fraternal twins WileyKat and WileyKit -- are Thunderan nobles who sit on the ruling council. They are led the wise warrior Jaga and Claudus, Lion-o's father and the hereditary Lord of the Thundercats.

The show itself actually starts when Thundera is destroyed in an explosion, so the version of Lion-o in Fandom is pre-canon. In other words, I'm having to make up some of this stuff as I go along. Lion-o is just a small boy who will one day have a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, but he thinks that's a long way off. Lion-o's father was blinded in a battle with their mortal enemies, the evil Mutants from the planet Plun-darr. His mother is totally absent in canon, so I've adopted the theory that Lion-o's mother was killed in a Mutant attack. He won't be talking about her a lot.

Lion-o has his caretaker, Snarf, with him. Snarfs are smaller, intelligent cat-like furry non-humanoid creatures that also come from Thundera. They are very loyal and incapable of evil. They usually have names, except this one is named Osbert so he much prefers to go as Snarf. Snarf has taken care of Lion-o since he was a small cub. He cooks, cleans, and generally hangs out in Lion-o's dorm room when he's not nagging Lion-o.

During a visit to Nemesis Island last year, Lion-o ran into trouble and the Sword of Omens came to his aid. The Sword of Omens belongs to the Lord of the Thundercats. It's got a lot of nifty powers, including the ability to change sizes, but right now, the only powers Lion-o will be using is Sight Beyond Sight and warnings of danger. The sword will allow Lion-o to see faraway events in real time, though I am limiting this to the boundaries of Fandom Island except for special plotty circumstances. The sword also has a psychic conenction with Lion-o and will also alert him whenever someone is in trouble, even while its stored in the weapons locker. I'd love to see Lion-o and the sword help out in any sort of plot.

The Thundercats didn't actually wear any clothing when they lived on Thundera (this was a kids show?) and there's only two episodes where you see him as a young boy. That means I didn't have a lot of usable screencaps to make icons from. You'll see that I'm probably using the same icon over and over again. I do have some adult Lion-o icons and they may occasionally pop-up in a thread just, but for now, Lion-o is still just a little boy.

And one last random fact: Lion-o's voice actor is Larry Kenney, who is provides the voices of Count Chocula and Sonny the Coco-Puffs Bird.
lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Boys And Their Toys)
Like a good boy, Lion-o had left his shoes out before going to bed the night before so Snarf could polish them.

When he went to grab his shoes the next morning, they were full of candy. "Awesome!" said Lion-o. "Thanks for the candy, Snarf."

Snarf, who was sleeping at the foot of Lion-o's bed, mumbled something and rolled over.

Lion-o was not in a good mood. He'd finally heard back from his father, who wouldn't be coming to Parents Weekend after all. Lion-o understood the reasons why, and he agreed that the long journey wouldn't be good, considering his father's poor health.

Still, he had really been looking forward to seeing his dad again, and it was hard not to let the disappointment get to him. So he couldn't resist pouting as he sat on the bed, looking at the silver bullet he'd made in class the other day. It didn't seem so cool anymore.

[Establishy, but door and post open]

lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Curiosity)
After his adventure on Nemesis Island, Lion-o was sticking to the dorms where it was nice and safe. Of course, he didn't have much choice in the matter while Snarf was around.

In the meantime, he was taking a closer look at the strange sword that appeared when he needed a weapon. He didn't really understand how it worked and he had no idea why there were holes in the hilt, but he would learn. Tomorrow he'd take it down to the weapons locker, but for tonight, he was going to stash it under the bed.

lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Don't Mess With Me)
Lion-o was used to having a fluffy snarf tagging along at his heels, so at first he didn't really notice the fluffy circular creature at his feet. Besides, he was trying to find an easy way to tell Snarf that he'd gotten a job in town after going to the picnic on Saturday.

He did notice when the creature tried to bit his ankle. Snarf came to the rescue and whacked the circle with his powerful tail, but that only left them with two even more vicious circular critters. When they clamped onto Snarf's tail, Lion-o grabbed a heavy book and started beating them to dislodge them, but they just seemed to keep coming out of nowhere.

There's another info post for the Arms Hotel, which is available for your convention plots, special occasions, or whatever you may need a hotel room for. You can always contact me OOCly if you need to arrange for a hotel room.

I think that's it, because it took me way too long to write this considering I was keeping it short. My contact info is in user info for my characters and my kids are always available for plots.
lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Getting yelled at)
Lion-o was writing a letter home to the Thunderkittens, telling them about his latest adventures in Fandom. He figured they would be jealous since he was playing games in class and they were training with the rest of the Thundercats.

He didn't bother looking up when he heard Snarf whimper. "What's bothering you?" he asked.

"I think it's trying to eat me. Help!" shrieked Snarf.

"What..." Lion-o started to ask before he saw the ginormous spider that had Snarf trapped in its web. Lion-o sprang to action, grabbing a book and whacking the spider until it scurried away. "Ugh, I didn't think spiders could get this big. I have to tell WileyKat and WileyKit all about this!"

Snarf was still whimpering as he freed himself from the web and went to hide.

lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Scared)

Lion-o had gotten an urgent message from Tygra back on Thundera. It seemed that Lord Claudus was ill, though Tygra said that he shouldn't worry. Lion-o worried anyway because his father was the only close family member he had left. He and Snarf frantically packed some essentials and headed for the causeway, where a transport would be waiting to take them home.

[Establishy, but you can catch him before he leaves.]

lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Away We Go!)
Lion-o was feeling way too restless to sleep. Not wanting to disturb his roommate, he decided to go for a walk in the preserve. There really wasn't a good reason for Lion-o to be out here in the middle of the night except this was probably the easiest way to ditch Snarf. Lion-o wanted to be alone with his thoughts as he reflected on the last week. He just didn't expect to run into a teal deer, which seemed to stare at him for a long time.

"Oh, geez," grumbled Lion-o. "Yes, go ahead and stare! And really, I'm not going to eat you or anything."

The teal deer scampered off anyway.

[Establishy, but very much open to any other nighttime wanderers!]

Moving back into the dorms was pretty painless for Lion-o, especially since Snarf pretty much did everything for him. It was really nice to have a snarf around, even if it did cause some confusion for the radio squirrels.

Lion-o took advantage of the down time to take care of some official business. He needed to write a letter to the council about the progress with his education, but he thought it best to leave out the part about the radio reporting that Snarf was his boyfriend. That was just too weird.

[Open, especially for the roomie.]
lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Getting yelled at)
"Lion-o, wake up!"

"Go back to sleep, Snarf. It's Saturday," groaned Lion-o.

"But Lion-o, there's candy!" squeaked Snarf. "It's falling from the sky, snarf snarf."

"Just remember to save some for me," mumbled Lion-o, his eyes closed.

"Get your own candy. In situations like this, it's every snarf for himself," said Snarf before scampering off to eat more candy.
lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Cautious)

Lion-o was still thinking about that king they learned about in class today. It didn't make sense to him that the king's advisers would blindly follow a madman. He hoped that somebody would stand up to him if he really messed up as a leader. He had no doubt that when the time came, Tygra and Panthro would be the most likely to question his decisions.

But that was probably very far in the future. He didn't have to worry about becoming lord of the Thundercats for a very, very long.

lordofthecats: (Lion-o -- Hugs)
Lion-o could have gone out to the campfire again, but instead he was in his alcove, watching a quartet of dancing, beret-wearing Jazz Hams. "Snarf, you really need to see this," he said.

"I don't think so, Lion-o. Those hamsters give me the creeps, snarf snarf," grumbled Snarf, who was hiding under the bed." The Jazz Hams just laughed at him.
